General Meeting
January 3, 2008
CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 6:58…ish. There were eight members who defied the oncoming blizzard and made the meeting.
Minutes of Past Meeting: Paulette Grune made a motion to accept the minutes of the previous meeting, Joanne Miller seconded and it passed unanimously.
Staff Officer’s reports:
Commander: Fred Grune primarily wanted to hear any questions or concerns members of the group had.
Inspector General: Robert Burr, after several moments of intense mental concentration, came to the conclusion that he had nothing to report.
Adjutant General: Joanne Miller reported the club’s balance.
Civilian Chief of Staff: Paulette Grune informed everyone about the details of the Valentine’s Ball. It will be on February 16, 2008 and last from 4:00-10:00 PM. Paulette Grune also requested that people think about Refreshments. Paulette Grune also shared a letter from Fourth Ward School thanking us for a history of good deeds.
Confederate Chief of Staff: Bud Miller had no report
Union Chief of Staff: Derrick Walls was not present - no report.
Unfinished Business:
Paulette Grune advised everyone to keep an eye on the weather leading up to the holiday party as it was possible that the even would have to be canceled (Paulette’s warning turned out to be accurate as my car was buried under a mountain of snow for two days).
New Business:
Paulette Grune brought up the topic of the Rendezvous being moved to June 21, 2008.
Louise McConnell shared an article concerning the Stonewall Brigade Band.
Skip Hammargren was very thankful for the card which Kathy Lynch sent him on behalf of the group.
Points for the good of Order:
The meeting came to an end at 7:30…ish.
Random Stuff: I just wanted to remind everyone (including myself) that if you have not turned in your membership application, safety test and check…well…please do so. Also, if you do not have internet access, please feel free to request a physical printout of the safety test and membership application and I shall mail one to you. Not the check though, I am afraid you have to supply that yourself.
