UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

Bowers Mansion EncampmentFred Grune reported that our encampment, scheduled for July 20-22, 2007, has been cancelled by Ranger John Hessee because insufficient staff are available to cover the event.  Ranger John Hessee requested that we consider an event for 2008.

Fourth Ward School living history event.  Paulette Grune confirmed our participation at this event.  By Barbara Mackey's suggestion, an invitation has been extended by the Reno/Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority, and five couples have volunteered, to attend a diner for a convention tour promoting northern Nevada.  Members will act as hosts, share our knowledge of Civil War history and experiences through conversation with the tour guides who will, hopefully, organize tours to this area, and enjoy diner.  A Reno/Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority donation to the NCWV was received for this event.

NEW BUSINESS:

None reported.

POINTS FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER:

The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 PM.

Respectfully recorded and submitted by Paulette Grune for the Inspector General.

Ramblings from the Quarterdeck.

Elaine and I would like to thank the members of the NCWV for the sympathy card we received from the club, the timing of its arrival was perfect.  For those that were unaware of the circumstances, I had to head off to the mid-west for what would be a terminal visit with my younger brother.  With everything going on at the time, I most likely missed Barbara White's e-mail.  I ask the understanding of the membership for this oversight.  Last, but certainly not the least, a hearty thanks and a tip o' the sailors flat hat to Paulette Grune for recording these notes and Fred Grune for getting them to me.
