General Membership Meeting

 

Having reached a quorum, Commander Fred Grune called the meeting to order at 1900 hours.

 

Minutes of last meeting:   A motion was made and seconded to accept minutes of the February 1, 2007 meeting without corrections.  Motion carried.

 

Staff officers reports:

 

Commander:  Fred Grune put out call for volunteers for the Adjutant General position.

 

INSPECTOR GENERAL:   Tom Hudson absent, notes {for this meeting were} taken by Elaine Hudson; thanks Elaine HudsonElaine Hudson presented a letter of thanks, certificate, and picture of brick which will be passed on to the NCWV Historian.  For further info on Camp Moore visit www.campmoore.com.

 

ADJUTANT GENERAL:   Vacant.  Anyone interested in filling this position is asked to contact a Staff Officer.

 

Civilian Chief of Staff:  Paulette Grune reported on the Confederate Veteran Memorial Service in Fallon, NV on April 28, 2007.  We have been requested to provide a color guard (Union & Confederate), additional requests were made for someone to read the Confederate Pledge, and read a history of “Taps”.  For further details or to volunteer, call Paulette Grune.

 

Confederate CHIEF OF STAFF:  Bud Miller had nothing to report.

 

union chief of staff:  Tom Lynch had nothing to report.

 

Safety MarshalCarley McConnell, absent.

 

Chaplain:  Bill McConnell had nothing to report.

 

Unfinished Business:

 

The appointed positions were made permanent via vote:  Confederate Chief of Staff:  Bud Miller; Union Chief of Staff:  Tom Lynch; Safety Marshall:  Carley McConnell; and Chaplin:  Bill McConnell.  Congratulations to all.

 

New Business:

 

Genoa Tea at The Wild Rose Inn, March 11, 2007 at 2 PM, cost is $20.00 per person.  Contact Kathy Lynch for further information; please RSVP by March 7.

 

On Tuesday March 27, 2007 at 7:30 PM, Jan Loverin will deliver a presentation on "Nevada First Ladies Inaugural Ball Gowns" at the Nevada State Museum.  Regular admission fees will be charged:  $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for Senior Citizens, and children 17 and under Free.

 

TMCC Presentation, March 29, 2007 at 6:00 PM.  Muster at the Campus Library.  Tom Lynch is clarifying bringing and the possession of firearms in a school zone.

 

Confederate Veteran Memorial Service, Fallon, NV, April 28, 2007.  Meet at the cemetery at 10:00 AM sharp.  For further details, or to volunteer call Paulette.

 

We received a request for a 2 hour presentation to 5th & 6th graders of a Minden school.  Details at the next meeting.
