General Meeting

 

Having reached a quorum, Commander Fred Grune called the meeting to order at 1915 hours.

 

Minutes of last meeting:   A motion was made with a seconded to accept the April Meeting Minutes with the following corrections:  1. The start time to be amended as noted.  2.  The net profit from the Spring Cotillion was higher than reported in the written The Sentinel.  The Confederate Veteran Memorial Service in Fallon was referenced as the Southern Memorial in the e-edition of The Sentinel.  Having noted these corrections, the motion carried unanimously.

 

STAFF OFFICER'S Reports

 

Commander:  Fred Grune had no report to be made at this time.

 

INSPECTOR GENERAL:  Tom Hudson noted a conversation with Jim Prida at Ft. Churchill that parking and set up will remain the same, fees questions are resolved, and that The Silver Springs Fly-In is the same weekend.  See additional information under New Business.

 

ADJUTANT GENERAL:  Joann Miller gave the necessary status reports for club debits and credits, final tally in the mailed The Sentinel.

 

Civilian Chief of Staff:  Paulette Grune reminded everyone of the 4th Ward event.  See New Business for additional information.

 

Confederate CHIEF OF STAFF:  Bud Miller had no report at this time.

 

UNION CHIEF OF STAFF:  Tom Lynch contacted Nichole Colquhoun at the Minden Elementary School.  Tom Lynch is the ramrod for this presentation on June 6th,  9- Noon.  If you’re interested in going, please contact him.

 

Safety Marshal:  Carley McConnell had no report to be made at this time.

 

Chaplain:  Bill McConnell had no report to be made at this time

 

Unfinished Business:

 

All went well at the Confederate Veteran Memorial Service at in Fallon.  There’s a new museum director, so the post ceremony breaking of the bread was a bit different.

 

New Business:

 

The final confirmation vote was held for the Adjutant-General post; Joann Miller carried unanimously.

 

Bower’s Mansion  Louise McConnell, chair, checked on who was coming and where they would be.

 

4th Ward Tea & Fashion Show  Paulette Grune, chair, got head count, and explained events planned.

 

Ft. Churchill  Larry Steinberg is going to be doing maintenance work on the cannon; help with this is requested.  Kathy Lynch is informally heading up the Saturday Pot Luck, don’t forget to bring vittles for it!

 

Carson City Rendezvous  Discussion of what we would be demonstrating, and the approximate times.

 

Meeting was adjourned at approximately 2015 hours by unanimous vote.
