The Nevada Civil War Volunteers is a non-profit, educational, American Civil War reenactment organization based in Northern Nevada.  Our purpose is to share and perpetuate knowledge about the War of the Rebellion, with emphasis on the Territory/State of Nevada.  Our members portray individuals of the 1st Nevada Volunteer Battalion,  Company E, Orr's Rifles - 3rd Company, Battalion of  Sharps Shooters, McGowan's South Carolina Brigade,  Norfolk Light Artillery, US Sanitary Commission, southern  refugees, and northern townsfolk.

We stress accurate, authentic activities in a safe, family oriented environment, and have fun doing it.  We participate in and sponsor Civil War living history events, field encampments, battle reenactments, memorial services and dedications, and other civic activities and parades throughout Northern Nevada.  Our events are always free of charge and open to the public.

We strive to correctly represent lifestyles during the War Between the States era, both civilian and military, without partiality to any side.  The Nevada Civil War Volunteers are always looking for new members and welcome not only current, authentic re-enactors but also those new to the field of reenacting to portray civilian, confederate and/or federal personages.

If you would like to join our organization, please complete a Membership Application, and a Safety Questionnaire.  Be sure to sign and date the documents where applicable and send them along with your check of $25.00 for an individual membership or $35.00 for a family (same household) membership to the Nevada Civil War Volunteers, P.O. Box 11033, Reno. NV 89510.
